Målinger av luftkvalitet i Kongsberg. NILU OR
NILU har målt forurensning i Kongsberg sentrum på oppdrag fra Kongsberg kommune. Måleserien er sammenlignet med samtidige målinger på Lillehammer. Målingene viser at forurensningsnivået i Kongsberg sentrum er lavere enn forurensningsnivået på Lillehammer.

Spredningsberegninger for tunnelforbindelser langs E134, Kongsberg. Det er beregnet maksimale konsentrasjoner av PM10,og NOX i tunnelene ved ugunstige trafikkforhold (rushtrafikk morgen/ettermiddag). Konsentrasjonsreduksjon som funksjon av avstand fra tunnelmunninger er vist i tabell, og konsentrasjonene er sammenlignet med Nasjonalt mål og grenseverdier for luftkvalitet

NILU har målt støv omkring Aquarock AS sitt pukkverk i Sandnessjøen i perioden 28.06.2010 - 07.02.2011. Resultatene fra målingene viste overskridelse av retningslinje for støvfall 600 m nordvest for virksomheten.

Et aminbasert CO2 renseanlegg kan føre til utslipp av aminer til luft. I atmosfæren brytes aminer ned til mange ulike kjemiske forbindelser, deriblant til nitrosaminer og nitraminer. Disse kan ha miljø- og helseskadelige egenskaper. Denne rapporten gir en oversikt over eksisterende data for nitrosaminer og nitraminer og en anbefalning til integrert strategi for testing ved bruk av alternative metoder som in vitro metoder og (Q)SAR for å fylle kunnskapshullene og informasjonskravene for risikovurdering av kjemikalier i REACH.

This report highlights the status of the project for the first six months of the project, August 2010 -January 2011. The project can be considered in good standing, with no major issues or deviations to report.

SK-1531 Mongstad. Spredningsberegninger og HMS-vurdering. NILU OR
Norsk Institutt for luftforskning (NILU) har gjort spredningsberegninger av utslipp til luft fra skorstein SK-1531 på Mongstad. Spredning av NH3, HCN, CO, CO2, NO2, SO2 og benzen er beregnet og analysert. Det er også gjort en vurdering knyttet til helse- og miljøeffekter inkludert levetid/nedbrytningstid for de aktuelle utslippskomponentene. De beregnede konsentrasjonene har blitt sammenholdt med eksisterende bakgrunnskonsentrasjoner og sammenlignet med gjeldende grenseverdier. Ingen av de undersøkte komponenter overskrider grenseverdier. Utslippene fra SK-1531 ansees derfor ikke å utgjøre noe problem.

Environmental Management Report 2010. NILU OR
One of NILU's main goals is to study the impact of pollution. It is thus very important for the institute to have control of the impact the institute's own activities may have on the environment and to reduce the impact as far as possible.
NILU has for many years been working to reduce the impact. In order to take this one step further, it was decided that the institute should restructure the work according to a relevant environmental standard and to seek certification according to the same standard.
The chosen standard is ISO 14001:2004 (Environmental management systems - Requirements with guidance for use) and NILU achieved certification according to this standard in October 2010.

Evaluering av vindforhold, snømengder og saltbelastning. Hammerfest 2009-2010. NILU OR
NILU har på oppdrag av Statnett bearbeidet måledata fra Hammerfest vedrørende vindforhold, snømengde og saltbelastning. Bearbeidingen er utført i forbindelse med planlagt utbygging av distribusjonsnett. Saltbelastningen ved Hammerfest er lavere enn langs Vestlandet.

Update of background concentrations over Norway. NILU OR
A methodology for creating a new dataset of estimated background concentrations of NO2, O3, PM10, and PM2.5 that are representative of a typical year over Norway, was developed. The dataset has a spatial resolution of 10 km × 10 km and an hourly temporal resolution. The methodology is based on a spatial mapping component for obtaining information on annual mean background concentrations, and a temporal characterization component, which uses long-term time series of station data to describe the typical development of background concentrations throughout a day and a year. When combined, these two components allow estimates of typical background concentrations at any time of the year at any location in Norway. Whereas the previously used VLUFT method of 1993 only provided spatially constant data at the county level, the new method presented here provides spatially continuous data at a comparatively high spatial resolution. Furthermore, while the previous method only gave a range of constant values that were considered valid throughout the entire year, the new technique provides continuous time series for a typical year at hourly resolution at any location in Norway.
